At Inktech, we believe that the best teams are built not just in the office or on the factory floor, but through shared experiences off-site. Last night, the team came together for the inaugural Inktech Olympics 10-Pin Bowling night in Rochdale—an evening that delivered far more than just strikes and spares.
With a fantastic turnout, the event saw colleagues from across the business come together, including our dedicated ink technicians and sales team who made the journey to join us. In challenging times, maintaining focus and motivation is important, and nights like these serve as a vital reminder of the strength of the team we have built.
More Than Just a Game
While the bowling provided plenty of competitive spirit—and a few moments of unexpected comedy—the real aim of the evening was to build stronger relationships across the business. With three games played, the lanes were filled with encouragement, laughter, and the kind of camaraderie that can only be built when we step away from our day-to-day roles in the business.
It was also an opportunity for the management team to demonstrate their commitment to the staff, taking the time to connect with colleagues in a relaxed setting away from the pressures of the workplace.
“We know that staying motivated during challenging periods requires more than just words,” said Bryan Crennell, Managing Director. “It’s about showing up, spending time together, and recognising the hard work everyone puts in. Nights like this are our way of saying thank you to the team.”
The Winners’ Circle
Of course, a little friendly competition never hurt anyone. Over three games, there were some outstanding performances—and a few attempts that will be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
· Highest Score: Tommy claimed the top spot with a tremendous effort, posting 148 points—a score that remained unthreatened all night.
· Biggest Miss: The award for the most creative shot went to Matt, whose “bouncing bomb” technique saw the ball travel across four lanes. The venue is currently reviewing its insurance policy.
· Most Strikes: Ryan took the crown for the most strikes—a cracking effort, though we suspect he may have had some prior practice.
· Team Award: Pete led his team—comprising Mo, & Luke, —to a well-deserved victory.
· The Wooden Spoon: The evening was topped off with Moti graciously accepting the wooden spoon award, rounding out the night with a sense of humour that embodies the team spirit.
A Warm Welcome
The evening also provided an opportunity to welcome Jonathan, our new Technical Manager, who will join the team on 13th April, It was a great chance for Jonathan to connect with colleagues in an informal setting before he officially joins Inktech.
Looking Ahead
As the team looks through the photos from the night there is a shared sense of purpose that events like these are essential. They remind us that even in challenging times, we are stronger together.
